America On The Brink... - Is National Suicide Patriotic?


There are many today who see the unusual events that are even now causing the world to take notice of the diabolical happenings that raise the blood levels of millions of people around the world. America has been attacked. We are engaged in a seemingly endless struggle against dark forces that never tire of inflicting their torment upon the globe. People are now in fear and have started to hoard food, forcing stores to limit purchases. Today, the evil of the Culture of Death is pushing abortion on demand, gay marriage and euthanasia and a very blatant socialist agenda. These are all things that would have been inconceivable in a forgone day.


Recently, I spoke with one of my readers about how similar various sections of Nimrod Rising are to what actually happened on September 11, 2001. I agreed with her and then went on to tell her that even though the similarity is very great, the sections of Nimrod Rising about which she was speaking were actually written in 1996. Of course, she did not believe me, and I understand why it is difficult to accept such a revelation that seemed too far-fetched to accept when there are seemingly no answers. Yet, there are answers to why we now walk in concern and fear for what the world will face in the future and why it is happening.


What I have written and what we have seen come to pass are really not as difficult to predict as one might think. There are plenty of sources, both biblical and extra-biblical that have predicted the various actions that will face the world at a time of great calamity and change. What we face today is in reality nothing less than the birth pangs of a new world, one that will be free of terror and strife, one controlled by a benevolent despot who will restrain evil and build security for his people. Yet, just as a mother suffers great pain and hardship prior to holding her new little life in her arms, so also, the world will experience massive sorrow and will walk in the valley of death before peace and sanctuary are established on the Earth.

Point Of No Return!

WE ARE ON THE BRINK of a government takeover of the health care industry that will empower federal bureaucrats to make life-and-death decisions about your medical care -- a system certain to favor the politically well-connected over ordinary citizens, as it does in Canada -- and that will put all your private medical records in a government database (don't worry, they promise never to use them against you)

Enemies Of The State!


WE ARE ON THE BRINK because we have confirmed a Supreme Court nominee who believes that her own ethnic prejudices as a "wise Latina woman" are more important in deciding cases than our laws or Constitution -- a woman who has ruled that discrimination is just fine when practiced against white males





WE ARE ON THE BRINK of enacting "cap-and-trade" legislation that will cripple American competitiveness in the global economy, double home utility bills, add thousands to the cost of new cars, and cost U.S. workers an estimated 2.5 million jobs per year -- while doing next to nothing to impact a "global warming" problem that is largely fictitious to begin with


WE ARE ON THE BRINK of becoming a nation where a majority of citizens receive lavish government handouts and benefits but pay no federal income taxes -- while continuing to vote themselves still more benefits from the shrinking minority who do pay taxes (at ever more "progressive" rates)



We are on the brink, in short, of a revolutionary transformation of our system of government and our way of life -- one that will turn us into a European-style social-welfare state where only politicians, government bureaucrats, and their favored interests are able to thrive -- and where the only "liberty" that remains is the government's unlimited freedom to control every aspect of your life.


I ask you now, my friend: Would you want to live in such an America? Would you want to bequeath such an America to your children and grandchildren?

Neither would I. But guess what? We don't have to. Because believe me when I say...
It's NOT Too Late to Stop
This Nightmare

But we'll have to fight. And we'll have to pull together -- as conservatives, as patriots -- as never before.



Because make no mistake: Our would-be masters in Washington will stop at nothing to secure the power they've come to think of as theirs by divine anointing.





Already, they are using the full force of federal power to crush whatever opposition stands in their way. For instance:

• They fired AmeriCorps inspector general Gerald Walpin for blowing the whistle on the misuse of AmeriCorps funds by Kevin Johnson, the former NBA star who is now mayor of Sacramento, California and a prominent supporter of President Obama.

• They silenced the author of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) report that was skeptical of claims about global warming, including whether carbon dioxide must be strictly regulated by the federal government, on the eve of a vote on "cap and trade" legislation

• They abruptly "retired" longtime Amtrak Inspector General Fred Weiderhold just after he met with officials of the government-subsidized rail service to discuss evidence of its meddling in financial audits and probes.




And there is worse to come as they prepare to silence conservative talk-radio by reviving the Fairness Doctrine... and to enact "card check" laws that would expose anti-union workers to intimidation and harassment... and to pass the so-called Freedom of Choice Act to force pro-life medical professionals to refer patients for abortions.

 And who will stop them? The "watchdogs" of the mainstream media? The ACLU? Don't make me laugh.

But all is not lost -- far from it. For as bleak as things may seem right now, freedom of speech and of conscience is not dead in America. It's just gone underground...





... to The Conservative Underground -- where people like you and me are free to think, say, and believe whatever we wish, no matter what the forces of political correctness may have to say about it.





Here in The Conservative Underground, you're free to speak your mind even if...
• ... you don't believe that Barack Obama is the Second Coming of J.C. (unless that J.C. is Jimmy Carter)
 • ... you don't believe that man-made "global warming" is a proven fact -- much less an excuse for destroying the U.S. economy -- just because Al Gore says so, especially when hundreds of respected scientists publicly disagree with him

• ... you don't believe that the way back to prosperity in America lies in soaring tax rates and massive new spending programs that will add trillions to the federal deficit and eventually lead to runaway inflation

• ... you don't believe that power in America should be transferred from our duly elected representatives to a small army of unelected "czars" (over twenty, at last count) appointed by President Obama

• ... you don't believe that the U.S. Constitution is a "living document" that means whatever any Supreme Court majority declares it to mean
 • ... you do believe in all the old-fashioned virtues and principles -- such as faith, family, freedom, and self-reliance -- that made America great, and can help restore that greatness once again.


If those are the things you value most -- and that you think are still worth fighting for, no matter how bleak things may seem at the moment -- then let me be first to say...

I had the good fortune to be a guest on Paul Ibbetson's excellent radio show, The Conscience of Kansas when I was announcing my previous epic novel, 'Nimrod Rising'. I was so thrilled to be on a show of that stature. I immediately knew that Paul was a man who only cared for the truth and that he'd tell it, popular or not.

Just before I started this series, I thought about some I have followed and a few I have actually met. These, in this heart-felt need to make them heard, are merely a thimble full of some great minds of freedom out there in the ocean of Patriots who love this country. I want to facilitate the voices who refuse to be silent, whatever the cost; to let their messages of true American Freedom be read and heard and seen. When I thought of several I want to highlight, Paul Ibbetson immediately came to my mind and I decided there that I would highlight this guardian of liberty.


Paul is a great radio host and a great writer too. He wrote his book Feeding Lions, a book that separates the sheep from the goats, and I read it, and I understood Paul to be a man with a drive to tell the truth. He is not merely talking about Republicans and Democrats. Paul shows the differences between the two major fundamental patterns of thought and political value systems that move America to the left or to the right, toward moral courage or to a culture based on death rather than life.

America, with all its imperfections, is still truly the land of opportunity. This has been the unique component that has brought people from around the world, in every way imaginable, and even some ways not. This opportunity to succeed and, yes, to also fail, is a product brought about by individual freedom that has been unique to America since our founding fathers placed their lives on the line to create a better future for themselves and their families. If we are to hold worthy the struggle of those who fought to give us a free nation, should we not also observe those who wish to take away both our freedom and the opportunity that living in a free country brings?



The Obama administration is truly a ravenous hydra, in which there are many deadly heads, that must be addressed one set of fangs at a time. This time, the head most near in striking distance is that of the Cap and Trade bill, H.R. 2454, which has passed the House of Representatives and currently is being deliberated on by the Senate.






The case against Cap and Trade is all but overwhelming. The bill runs on the faulty, if not dubious, premise that by the government making it so expensive for the U.S. manufacturing and industrial complex to emit CO2, businesses will turn to "green" alternatives on their own accord. This is to happen while, at the same time, the government selectively sells CO2 permits to industries of its choosing. Beyond creating what Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma described as the largest tax increase in American history, this will inevitably force viable industry outside the U.S. during a recession period — when economic growth is an absolute must for the country's future survival. Also, as painfully obvious, those industries that are privileged enough by whatever system of measure the Obama administration sets forth to be able to buy their emission permits, will then, by the nature of simple economics, charge higher prices to the average American for electricity and other products to recoup their costs. Yes, you and I, the American people, will pay the bill for Cap and Trade.



If that last statement hurts, this next statement will be excruciating. The Cap and Trade program will have no measurable effect on carbon emission reduction. That's none, zero, zilch, nada. Other than creating extreme debt, reducing economic growth and American freedom, Cap and Trade is the equivalent of a dead turtle in what has been promoted as a jackrabbit race. My conversation with Dr. Calvin Beisner, national spokesman for the Cornwall Alliance on my radio program, Conscience of Kansas, only strengthens previous statements made this month by the Environmental Protection Agency that U.S. action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions will have no impact on the climate. In effect, our government will spend trillions of American dollars for absolutely nothing.





If there is no upside (and there isn't) to the Cap and Trade bill, then why are liberals throughout the Obama administration trying to push the bill through without proper inspection? Why does the Obama administration give this issue the full court press to include wheeling out Al Gore (who becomes more Bela Lugosi-esque by the second) to sound the "Earth alarm" by way of nothing short of eerie organ music.



The truth is that Cap and Trade is but a symptom of the liberal environmental psychosis, of which capitalism and the free market (and the prosperity both bring), are seen as dangerous and destructive. It is through this derangement that CO2, a naturally occurring substance — crucial for life on this planet, can be seen as a poison and we are all told to hate our "carbon footprint."







It is interesting to note that while science daily disproves the correlation between the growth of carbon emissions and increases in planet temperature, few people speak out about the undeniable correlation between the growth of our "carbon footprint" and the growth of our freedom, stability, and economic prosperity. You see, there are blessings to be found in those big honking carbon footprints. India and China see this clearly, and they have chosen prosperity over carbon credit tomfoolery. Even the little developing nations of the world, with their war, death, and famine, would like to have a shot at a little more carbon footprint growth. That is, they would like to reap the rewards, not the Hollywood hyped detr

iments of the industrial world. With the Obama and Gore liberals of today, it is the

capitalistic smell of the carbon footprint that offends them most; and in defense of such wondrous things, I say, embrace your car

bon footprint, cherish it while you have it, and remember what it has given you. In reality, it is not a burning planet but prosperity, stability, and economic growth. Not a bad smell indeed.
