Voices Of The Patriots - Paul Ibettson - Why you should love your carbon footprint

Paul Ibbetson

Paul Ibbetson Is
The Conscience of Kansas

The “Conscience of Kansas” on The Wildcat 91.9 f.m

I had the good fortune to be a guest on Paul Ibbetson's excellent radio show, The Conscience of Kansas when I was announcing my previous epic novel, 'Nimrod Rising'. I was so thrilled to be on a show of that stature. I immediately knew that Paul was a man who only cared for the truth and that he'd tell it, popular or not.

Just before I started this series, I thought about some I have followed and a few I have actually met. These, in this heart-felt need to make them heard, are merely
a thimble full of some great minds of freedom out there in the ocean of Patriots who love this country. I want to facilitate the voices who refuse to be silent, whatever the cost; to let their messages of true American Freedom be read and heard and seen. When I thought of several I want to highlight, Paul Ibbetson immediately came to my mind and I decided there that I would highlight this guardian of liberty.

Paul is a great radio host and a great writer too. He
wrote his book Feeding Lions, a book that separates the sheep from the goats, and I read it, and I understood Paul to be a man with a drive to tell the truth. He is not merely talking about Republicans and Democrats. Paul shows the differences between the two major fundamental patterns of thought and political value systems that move America to the left or to the right, toward moral courage or to a culture based on death rather than life.

Below you can read an
excellent article by Paul Ibettson titled, "Why You Should Love Your Carbon Footprint" I think you'll absolutely agree with me that Paul A. Ibbetson is a voice of a Patriot that needs to be heard and followed, because he is a voice of the truth. That's just what Patriots do.

America, with all its imperfections, is still truly the land of opportunity. This has been the unique component that has brought people from around the world, in every way imaginable, and even some ways not. This opportunity to succeed and, yes, to also fail, is a product brought about by individual freedom that has been unique to America since our founding fathers placed their lives on the line to create a better future for themselves and their families. If we are to hold worthy the struggle of those who fought to give us a free nation, should we not also observe those who wish to take away both our freedom and the opportunity that living in a free country brings?

The Obama administration is truly a ravenous hydra, in which there are many deadly heads, that must be addressed one set of fangs at a time. This time, the head most near in striking distance is that of the Cap and Trade bill, H.R. 2454, which has passed the House of Representatives and currently is being deliberated on by the Senate.

The case against Cap and Trade is all but overwhelming. The bill runs on the faulty, if not dubious, premise that by the government making it so expensive for the U.S. manufacturing and industrial complex to emit CO2, businesses will turn to "green" alternatives on their own accord. This is to happen while, at the same time, the government selectively sells CO2 permits to industries of its choosing. Beyond creating what Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma described as the largest tax increase in American history, this will inevitably force viable industry outside the U.S. during a recession period — when economic growth is an absolute must for the country's future survival. Also, as painfully obvious, those industries that are privileged enough by whatever system of measure the Obama administration sets forth to be able to buy their emission permits, will then, by the nature of simple economics, charge higher prices to the average American for electricity and other products to recoup their costs. Yes, you and I, the American people, will pay the bill for Cap and Trade.

If that last statement hurts, this next statement will be excruciating. The Cap and Trade program will have no measurable effect on carbon emission reduction. That's none, zero, zilch, nada. Other than creating extreme debt, reducing economic growth and American freedom, Cap and Trade is the equivalent of a dead turtle in what has been promoted as a jackrabbit race. My conversation with Dr. Calvin Beisner, national spokesman for the Cornwall Alliance on my radio program, Conscience of Kansas, only strengthens previous statements made this month by the Environmental Protection Agency that U.S. action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions will have no impact on the climate. In effect, our government will spend trillions of American dollars for absolutely nothing.

If there is no upside (and there isn't) to the Cap and Trade bill, then why are liberals throughout the Obama administration trying to push the bill through without proper inspection? Why does the Obama administration give this issue the full court press to include wheeling out Al Gore (who becomes more Bela Lugosi-esque by the second) to sound the "Earth alarm" by way of nothing short of eerie organ music.

The truth is that Cap and Trade is but a symptom of the liberal environmental psychosis, of which capitalism and the free market (and the prosperity both bring), are seen as dangerous and destructive. It is through this derangement that CO2, a naturally occurring substance — crucial for life on this planet, can be seen as a poison and we are all told to hate our "carbon footprint."

It is interesting to note that while science daily disproves the correlation between the growth of carbon emissions and increases in planet temperature, few people speak out about the undeniable correlation between the growth of our "carbon footprint" and the growth of our freedom, stability, and economic prosperity. You see, there are blessings to be found in those big honking carbon footprints. India and China see this clearly, and they have chosen prosperity over carbon credit tomfoolery. Even the little developing nations of the world, with their war, death, and famine, would like to have a shot at a little more carbon footprint growth. That is, they would like to reap the rewards, not the Hollywood hyped detr

iments of the industrial world. With the Obama and Gore liberals of today, it is the

capitalistic smell of the carbon footprint that offends them most; and in defense of such wondrous things, I say, embrace your car

bon footprint, cherish it while you have it, and remember what it has given you. In reality, it is not a burning planet but prosperity, stability, and economic growth. Not a bad smell indeed.

Feeding Lions – The Book

by

Paul Ibbetson

From Amazon.com: "Feeding Lions is a book that comes clean on just why conservatives and liberals can't get in the same room without a fight breaking out. Using a healthy dose of heartland humor, the author takes readers on a journey of discovery that will anger liberals and awaken the dormant conservative who sleeps in the majority of the nation. This book avoids reams and reams of boring statistics and gets down to business right away by laying out the fundamentals of conservatism and why they fall in diametric opposition to liberalism. The goal for this book is quality, not quantity, and each page is full of serious intellectual analysis on the battle being waged for the hearts and minds in this country, and why conservative views MUST win the day."

Voices of The Patriots - Healthcare or Freedom Grab? by Glenn Beck

Is he crazy? Is he delusional? Is he right? The truth is that Glenn Beck is one of the most direct and honest media types in the country today. His show is one that demonstrates an absolute lack of fear to state what he believes is right for America and the American people. Like him - hate him, Glenn Beck is one of the most influential people in America today. His is the voice of a Patriot!

Healthcare or Freedom Grab?

by
Glenn Beck

The media's saying the plan's going to cost $1 trillion over the next 10 years. By the way, you didn't know this was happening? Maybe this is the first time you heard it because they did this while you were asleep! Using the Congressional Budget Office's numbers, which seem like a lot for something that's supposed to be free ‑‑ but maybe that's just me ‑‑ $1 trillion for this free healthcare. But the problem is it's not even close to true. When you hear $1 trillion over 10 years, what do you think? What do you think? Do you think $100 billion a year, right? No. No, you've got to think like a congressman or a senator or a slime ball. That's what the left is hoping that you're thinking. It's actually far higher than that, and the reason is just like when you have liver failure on universal health care, most of the programs in the bill are on a long waiting list. But we are the world! We are the children! And Michael Jackson's dead. Should we talk about that some more?

The long waiting list of the programs in this bill, typical government delay. They don't actually kick in for a few years. Only 17% of the spending comes in in the first five years. 83% comes in in the second five years. So only 17% of us can have the frickin' sniffles! But once everything has kicked in, we're going to make the world a better place, just you and me. Once everything kicks in, the plan actually costs $230 billion a year, yet another lie from Washington. The cost rises every year.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Glenn Beck [At His Best] DESTROYS Imbecile Racist U.S. Troops-Hater Leftist 'Sen.' Barbara Boxer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, this cost of $230 billion a year does not include administrative costs. It doesn't account for the cost of implementing the program. It doesn't count the effects on other spending, not to mention the aspirin or the Advil that the millionaire won't give you now! So how do you pay for something that is so unbelievably free and yet so expensive? By using the only two answers these clowns ‑‑ I could call them so much more than that ‑‑ the only two answers that they ever have: One, you make the rich pay for it; and two, you let the government fix everything. Number one is, and I kid you not, an additional 5.4% surtax on everyone who makes over $1 million a year. Well, that's fine, the rich millionaire. You know, the guy who started out poor, worked his frickin' ass off. Yeah, let's penalize him so we can pay for the guy who refuses to work. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, the job that Americans just won't do.

There are other taxes as well, you know, for those who make between $350,000 and up. The 5.4% tax is almost double the original number leaked to the press last week and, of course, this hits the small businesses the hardest. If you are not feeling bad for the evil rich people, which I understand because they're all so evil, I had the president of my company. I am a small business owner. I employ 23 people, something like that, 20 people, 23 people. I have a total staff of part‑time and full‑time of about 45 people that we are involved with, but 23 full‑time employees. They all have 100% medical care, 100%. The best money can buy. I have matching. You make a charitable donation, I match it dollar for dollar. Everybody pretty much has a nice, nice existence. I asked the president of my company, do some back‑of‑the‑envelope math. This tax, just this tax by itself, completely independent of all other tax hikes that are coming our way, will stop me from hiring five and ten people. One tax on one small business cost between five and ten jobs. Think about that against the entire scale of the economy. You'll begin to see what this plan is going to cost in free health care. The higher the tax, the less people get hired. The more people need government to give them health care or housing! This is a freedom grab!

By the way, the tax hikes only cover about half the plan. Half the plan. Wait a minute. Really? So what covers the rest of it? I kid you not, the expected ‑‑ I'm quoting ‑‑ the expected windfall savings that the government will achieve with government healthcare. Because we all know the government has a history of achieving unbelievable savings. I mean, there's no way the free market system could send an envelope across the country cheaper! There's no way they could do that! Jeez. If that plan, if you happen to be a hate monger and that plan sounds a little unlikely, you'll be interested to hear what the plan is if those savings don't materialize. But we, of course, know the government will save all kinds of money. This is going to be ‑‑ you are never going to have to have a heart transplant because as soon as this happens, our heart will grow three sizes that day. We'll all be super healthy. We'll just be living in sunshine, lollipops, candy contains and Tamiflu will flow in every river.

This is from the Politico report. If those savings don't materialize, quote, those making more than $1 million would see a 5.4% surtax added to the tax bill. Some of the rates could climb if anticipated savings from elsewhere in the bill did not materialize. So as long as the government does a far better job on anything else they've ever done, it should only be about 5.4% tax. If they can't, at this point they are claiming that it could go as high as double, so those five to ten jobs have now become ten to twenty jobs.

I just want to point out that there's no history of our government ever doing this. When they passed the income tax in 1913, the progressive income tax, Woodrow Wilson, they promised us it would never go as high as 10%. It was only 7% for the evil millionaires. 7%. It will never go past 10. Yeah, yeah. They passed it. Never go past 10. Four years later it was 67%. Oh, and by the way, it will never ‑‑ that was an emergency! And there's no more emergencies left. Just like ‑‑ 67%, but it was an emergency. It will never go higher than 60. It's just during the emergency, until the last emergency came or the next one where, I kid you not, the income tax was 92%.

FDR wanted to make it 100% of anybody who made over $25,000, but congress would only go to 94. Now, their other option that they talked about in the past is to pay for some of it with money that they take from you, if they can just get cap and trade. Mark my words. They are going to go for cap and trade. While we are all debating healthcare, they're going to go for cap and trade. Isn't that what happened last time? They introduce healthcare and then they pass cap and trade. Now here comes the healthcare bill. You see, they have to have cap and trade to be able to pass this. Remember, all of this is based on the idea that the evil insurance companies are just so profit‑hungry. The government can beat them in efficiency because they don't have to care about profits or paying CEOs millions of dollars. They won't have all of that greed.

If you take nothing else from this monologue, remember this one thing: Health insurance profits account for .6% of healthcare costs. .6%. That's not me saying that. That's factcheck.org. CEO pay accounts for .005% of costs. This is not about healthcare. It never has
been about healthcare. This is about, what does he call it, remaking America. This is government taking control of 1/6th of the economy. In one signature they will take 1/6th of the economy. They will take your arteries, your valves and your pancreas. Yes, you heard me. Your pancreas is at stake. But don't worry because the government can save it, because there's a choice we're making. We are the world. Can I get an amen!

The Fed Must Be Stopped by Congressman Ron Paul

Our country currently finds itself in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the 1930s and, as during all economic crises, people search for the answer as to why this has happened. Not only have large financial firms been affected, but also mainstays of American industry such as GM and Chrysler, all the way down to the Mom & Pop stores on Main Street. The easy way out is to blame the traditional scapegoats: foreign governments, fraudulent businessmen, and greedy speculators. But the real villain is far more sinister; the organization entrusted with maintaining a stable dollar and touted as the guarantor of economic stability – the Federal Reserve.

In the United States, monetary policy has been the domain of the Federal Reserve since its inception in 1913. Since that time we have had a number of cyclical recessions, each one following a boom caused by the Federal Reserve's loose monetary policy. The problem with the Federal Reserve is that it interferes with market pricing
functions. Interest rates are a price just like any other and arise because of the fact that people prefer to consume in the present rather than in the future. The extent to which people defer present consumption is reflected in interest rates, which in a free market are determined by the spontaneous interactions and decisions of millions of people.

Fed intervention to set prices throws markets and interest rates out of equilibrium. When the Federal Reserve pushes interest rates below what the market rate would be, everyone wants to borrow money for long-term projects. Shortages of loanable funds would occur, except that the Federal Reserve has the ability to create bank balances out of thin air. The Fed can create a bank ledger on paper, or on a computer, establish a balance of millions or billions of dollars, and then spend these dollars out into the economy.

Loans become cheap, and the result of these lower interest rates is an economic boom which eventually manifests itself as a bubble. Beginning in 2001, the Federal Reserve pushed interest rates to as low as one percent, which after adjusting for inflation meant that the real interest rate was negative, so businesses were actually making money by taking out loans. This was the fuel for the housing bubble and the reason there are 19 million empty houses today.

Because of this awesome power to create money out of thin air, the Fed has jumped in to stabilize ailing financial firms by pledging over $7 trillion through various guarantee programs and credit facilities. This is equivalent to over half of the entire nation's GDP. Over $1 trillion of this is already in play, propping up banks and other institutions that should be allowed to fail. All of this has taken place with no oversight by Congress. The Fed was created by Congress, and it is unconscionable that we have allowed it to act in such a way without our oversight. Currently the Federal Reserve's credit facilities, open market operations, and agreements with foreign governments and central banks are all exempt from any sort of audit or oversight.

Earlier this year I introduced the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, HR 1207, that would remove all restrictions on Federal Reserve audits and call for a full audit of the Federal Reserve System to be completed by the end of 2010. At this writing, 245 of my fellow Congressmen have cosponsored this bill and we hope to have hearings in the near future. In the Senate, Republicans Jim DeMint, Mike Crapo and David Vitter have cosponsored S. 604, companion legislation introduced by Bernie Sanders. I am very encouraged by the tremendous growing momentum on Capitol Hill.

Our Founding Fathers never intended for a single entity such as the Federal Reserve to have this much power. In fact, there is no authority in the Constitution for the federal government to create a central bank, to enact legal tender laws, or to print paper money. The Tenth Amendment is quite clear that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The states themselves are prohibited from emitting bills of credit, i.e. paper money, arising from the Founders' negative experiences with paper money during the Revolutionary War. Cheap, un-backed, easily counterfeited paper money nearly lost the Revolution, until the government returned to minting gold and silver coins. Unfortunately, like too many other lessons learned by the Founders, the painful experiences of paper money have been forgotten by those living in the pres ent. We even ignore the experiences of Germans in the 1920s, Argentines in the 1980s, and Zimbabweans over the past decade. The Fed doubled the monetary base last fall in a matter of months, and God help us if any of this high-powered money begins to make its way through the economy.

An audit of the Fed is only the first step towards returning to where our Founders intended this country to be. The Founders knew that paper money could ruin a country, and drafted the Constitution in such a way that they thought would ensure sound, commodity-backed currency. Unfortunately, the Constitution was dispensed with long ago, and we find ourselves now suffering under an unconstitutional regime of un-backed paper money. Until we abolish the Federal Reserve and return to a stable currency that is not able to be manipulated to create boom and bust cycles, we will continue down the path of economic ruin.
